Sneak Peak...

Here are a few photos that I stole from Facebook of the wedding I did at the ZLAC Rowing Club on October 16th. The venue was adorable, very "Men's Lodge-y". It had a distinguished feel with the wood paneled walls and the fireplace with the dark mantel. VERY CUTE!!! The guinea feathers that I used in the centerpieces and the brides bouquet really brought out that manly feel while still being elegant and very feminine. I loved every bit of it!!!

Plus the bride was such a sweetheart and such a pleasure to work with. I was very honored to be part of her and her new husbands day.

The flowers we used were: ruby red gerber daisies, white gerber daisies, red calla lilies, red "freedom" roses, white roses, white stephanotis (in the brides bouquet only) and guinea feathers as the black and white accent. Black and white polka dots were the mini theme of the wedding and everything tied together perfectly. Daniela you did a great job with all the small details, very impressive!!!

I can't wait to see the Professional photos :)

Exquisite Blooms flowers in a Magazine!

Remember that "Small Beach Wedding" from last month? Well it was featured in Pacific San Diego Magazine this month!!! And while the article is not about the flowers or anything of that nature, they still have pics of the beautiful bride and her bouquet. It was a bloom bouquet made from gladiola blooms then wrapped in raffia and accented with tiny starfish to match the centerpieces. Check it out below...

P.S. this is a really cool local magazine that I have been picking up lately and I think you all should too!

Enchanted Forest wedding

Here are a few photos from the wedding I did in July at the Enchanted Forest in Fallbrook. If you want to see more you can check them out on the Exquisite Blooms website, under "Featured". All the pictures were taken by their photographer, Robin at Wedding Day Reflections 619.687.6206.

The idea was to keep the flowers soft and romantic but large and luscious. For Melissa's bouquet, I used white cymbidium orchids, white lisianthus, white and soft pink roses, a little seeded eucalyptus and white peonies. Her stems were wrapped in white satin ribbon accented with 3 vintage crystal pins, her moms rosary and a picture of her late father. For her mom, I made a similar bouquet but used bear grass as a fun accent and shape. I had a lot of fun working with Melissa and her mom Madeline on this wedding, I feel like I really made friends and I hope to work with them again soon.

On the bridesmaids bouquets I used large pink peonies, hot pink and cream roses, fuchsia calla lilies, pink lisianthus and peach carnations. They really popped off the soft pink satin dresses and everyone looked gorgeous.

Small Beach Wedding

This weekend I had a small but very cool and very beautiful beach themed wedding. It was held at the Hilton Mission Bay on the "Garden Bay" lawn. For the bride and groom I designed a centerpiece made from sand blasted manzanita branches adorned with balls of white flowers and finished off with starfish and raffia on the base.

For the belly bars I used glass vases filled with solid white carnations and adorned with the same accents as the centerpieces. I know that everyone hates carnations but as I have said before, "when used bunched tightly by themselves, they have an elegant beauty." Don't you think that the look kind of like a sea creature? Like coral or sea sponges...maybe? Perfect for a beach wedding!

I also wrapped each napkin in raffia and added a starfish which really tied the entire table together.

Exquisite Blooms was the best decision I made for my entire wedding. Sally was not only our florist but also our day of coordinator. Sally was great and made me feel so confident that everything would go smoothly on our wedding day, and it did!

The flowers were so beautiful and I loved them so much. My bouquet was amazing and I wish I could have saved it forever. Everything from the centerpieces to the ceremony decor was just better than I had even imagined.

As a coordinator, Sally helped in so many ways even for just her "Day of Services" I would recommend her to everyone!! It was so great to just hand over all the last minute details so she could take care of them for me.

Kristin & Stu-May 2009

This was a really fun wedding to work on because I got to do the flowers as well as the "Day Of" coordinating. I loved the color scheme because it was so crisp and clean and was perfect for the NTC Promenade Corky McMillian Center and North Chapel. The entire wedding had a hint of "nautical" without being overwhelming which was great for the NTC Liberty Station since it was a Navy Base at one time.

The stunning pictures are courtesy of Patrick Lockwood Photography and there are more to see on my website under "Featured". Food was provided by Personal Touch Dining,I had the courtesy of eating that night since I was working and let me tell you, it was some of the best food I have ever had.

For the flowers we used all white, green and yellow blooms. For the bouquets we used:
  • yellow and green cymbidium orchids
  • white roses
  • yellow mini calla lilies
  • yellow tulips
The centerpieces were a grouping of vases, each containing one kind of bloom:
  • white dendrobium orchids (in the tall vase)
  • yellow tulips (in the medium vase)
  • green button mums (in the short vase)
and we wrapped each vase in cute yellow with white polka dots to add some fun to the table.

Red White and Blue

From Exquisite Blooms

Who says that a "Red, White and Blue" wedding has to be country style picnic themed with red and white checkered table clothes and mini American flags everywhere. We can be patriotic in style and maintain our chic-ness :). Just a little fun vision board for a desirable American Themed wedding in honor of our great nation.

Happy 4th!!!

I am always proud to be an American but this very special holiday makes me so very proud to be from the land of the Free and the Brave!!!

Kresge-Larsen Pro Pics {Gilroy, CA}

Some great shots of the Gilroy wedding...a rustic vineyard affair!!! Loved it!!!

I made the brides bouquet from petal-less sunflowers (I pulled the petals off), green cymbidium orchids, dried lotus pods, yellow roses, white casa blanca lilies and some curly willow.

Beach inspired wedding-Aqua, Tan & White

Today I was inspired by the colors aqua, tan and white and decided to make this collage of inspiration pictures to represent what I would love to do for a simple and chic beach wedding. The softness of the colors really create an elegance and classic style and could be used in any sort of wedding. Then, if you pair it with the starfish and the sand you get an elegant beach with stunning pictures. Anyone up for an aqua, tan and white beach wedding? Can't wait.

My Dream...

I just have to share with everyone that I would love to buy this property in Julian, CA to hold barn weddings in.  San Diego has a serious lack of barn weddings and I know I could do a fantastic job managing them on this fabulous property!!!  Oh how I wish my dream would come true...
Just imagine wedding guests driving through this gate to a evening wedding lit with twinkle lights and lanterns in the trees.
This would be the perfect place for a wedding if we cleared all the stalls, painted the barn, threw down some grass and hung a crystal chandelier in the inside.
I have been following this property for a while and would love to have it.
