Beach inspired wedding-Aqua, Tan & White

Today I was inspired by the colors aqua, tan and white and decided to make this collage of inspiration pictures to represent what I would love to do for a simple and chic beach wedding. The softness of the colors really create an elegance and classic style and could be used in any sort of wedding. Then, if you pair it with the starfish and the sand you get an elegant beach with stunning pictures. Anyone up for an aqua, tan and white beach wedding? Can't wait.

My Dream...

I just have to share with everyone that I would love to buy this property in Julian, CA to hold barn weddings in.  San Diego has a serious lack of barn weddings and I know I could do a fantastic job managing them on this fabulous property!!!  Oh how I wish my dream would come true...
Just imagine wedding guests driving through this gate to a evening wedding lit with twinkle lights and lanterns in the trees.
This would be the perfect place for a wedding if we cleared all the stalls, painted the barn, threw down some grass and hung a crystal chandelier in the inside.
I have been following this property for a while and would love to have it.

Sailing theme

Here are some shots from the "sailing" themed wedding I did at the San Diego Yacht Club June 5th. I wrapped the white ceramic vases with sail flag ribbon and used all primary colors to match the sail flags on the vases and around the venue. My favorite part was the monogram flags I made from flowers. Each sailing flag represents a letter and so I thought it would be cute to have their initials made from flags, it says ITS for (Ian Trotter Summer).

The flowers I used were gerber daisies, yellow small daisies, asiatic lilies and carnations.

I have a plumeria beach wedding this weekend so stay tuned for those pics. :)

Vicky's Gilroy Wedding

I just got back from a wedding I did in Gilroy, CA.  I was the wedding coordinator and their florist for the weekend.  The ceremony was held at Mt. Madonna in Santa Clara and the reception was held at Sarah's Vineyard in Gilroy, CA.  The day could not have been more perfect, the sun was shining, the vineyard was gorgeous and the bride was a bundle of fun!
The wedding was catered by Trial Dust BBQ from Morgan Hill and I got to sneak a bite even though I was working.  They served, pulled pork with a hogwash, tri-tip, chicken, beans, potato salad and green salad with the best BBQ sauce I have ever had in CA.  The presentation was exquisite and the service was excellent; I would use them again if I lived and worked up in the Gilroy area.
For flowers, we used sunflowers, blue and white hydrangea, yellow gerber daisies and curly willow as a rustic accent.  The wedding colors were brown blue and yellow and the bride wanted to keep it elegant while adding a rustic and natural feel.  The really exciting item was that we used the winery's old wine bottles as the centerpiece containers.  We had the bottles cut and the edges sanded and then filled them with flowers.

The brides bouquet was my favorite...I pulled the petals off the sunflowers and added dried lotus pods, white oriental lilies, green cymbidium orchids and yellow roses with curly willow to achieve a rustic bouquet with lots of texture and color that popped off the brides dress.

Our Wedding!!!

Well it is official, Jeremiah and I are married!!!  We were married Saturday on May 16th in Calistoga, CA.  It was absolutely beautiful and despite the heat (95 degrees), it as perfect.  We haven’t gotten the pictures back from our amazing photographer, Andy King, but here are a few that some friends shared with us.

Hopefully I will have some more of the reception later.  We were married at a private residence in the Petrified Forest in Calistoga and then headed over to the Tucker Farm Center for the reception.  The food was divine and served as a quaint home style buffet.   Our wonderful caterer, Kellie Lind 707.965.0512, made the most amazing food for both the rehearsal dinner and for the wedding; every bite of every dish melted in your mouth and all of our guests raved about it.  Kellie served the buffet in beautiful serving platters and dishes, not in those ugly silver chaffing dishes.  It was intimate and delicious!!!  If anyone is looking for a caterer in the Napa Valley, Sonoma or Santa Rosa area, I highly highly recommend Kellie Lind, she is so friendly and her service is superb.

More soon....1st it's off to Italy from June 6th till June 22nd :)

A Wedding Spectaculaire

A few weeks ago I participated in a wedding show called “A Wedding Spectaculaire.”  It was very different then the normal wedding shows that we are all familiar with but I was a great concept.  A company called Plush Lounge donated all the lounge furniture and each vendor had their own lounge area.  Here is a picture of my area:

I loved the whole concept of a sitting area rather than a pipe and drape 10x10 booth.  My area had a very natural and organic feel.  I decorated an arch with curly willow, circus roses and green cockscomb.  The arrangement on the table was a tree bark vase, dogwood branches, circus roses, white hydrangea, dried jumbo mushrooms from India and red cockscomb.  This shows a close up picture:
Another part of the show was a table top competition for the floral designers.  I did a yellow and gray table top that consisted of a tall centerpiece made from solidago filler, yellow tulips, yellow orchids, yellow cockscomb and white asiatic lilies.  On the table I used vintage silver platers and adorned them with half domes of various yellow flowers.  The table top was covered in crushed platinum linens provided by Raphaels party rentals and silver chargers with yellow napkins.

Here are a few of the 10 bouquets I made for the events, unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of all of them.
